Western Australia’s only airshow lands April 11th, 2026!
Welcome to Beverley
We are excited to welcome you to the Beverley Airshow, taking flight on Saturday, 11 April 2026! Set against the backdrop of the historic Beverley Airfield, this spectacular event is a celebration of aviation heritage, innovation, and community spirit.
A Proud Legacy in the Skies
Beverley’s connection to aviation dates back to 1928, when a young Selby Ford sketched the design for WA’s first home-built biplane on the floor of a powerhouse. Two years later, the Silver Centenary took to the skies—marking the beginning of Beverley’s aviation story.
The Beverley Airfield, located on Bremner Road at the south-eastern edge of town, was built in 1943 for use during World War II. The site’s unique stone drainage ditches were created using rock from historic convict-built walls, adding a rich layer of history to this remarkable airfield.
Celebrating Over 50 Years of Airshows
The first Beverley Airshow—Aviat 70—was held in 1970 to mark 50 years of aviation progress in Western Australia. It drew enthusiasts from near and far and set the stage for future airshows in the 1980s and again in 2000. Now, in 2026, the skies above Beverley will once again come alive with thrilling aerobatics, vintage aircraft, and cutting-edge aviation technology as we proudly revive this iconic event.
The Beverley Soaring Society
Founded in 1974 during a golden era of gliding in WA, the Beverley Soaring Society has become a centre of excellence in the sport. Driven by the passion of its founders, Dave Woodward and Duncan Black, the club continues to foster a strong local and national soaring community.

The Story of the Silver Centenary
Built in 1929 by Beverley local Selby Ford, the Silver Centenary was Western Australia’s first homebuilt aircraft. Crafted in the town’s powerhouse using timber and fabric, it first flew in 1930 and was later beautifully restored by Ford’s grandson. The aircraft stands today as a tribute to Beverley’s rich aviation heritage and community spirit.
