ABOUT US
Welcome to Beverley
We are thrilled to welcome you to the Beverley Airshow, set to take to the skies on 14 March 2026! This event promises to be a spectacular celebration of aviation history, innovation, and community spirit, held at the historic Beverley Airstrip.
A Legacy of Aviation Excellence
Beverley’s connection to aviation is rich and storied, dating back to 1928 when WA's first built biplane was sketched onto a powerhouse floor by a young man named Selby Ford. Completed in 1930, the Silver Centenary.
The Beverley airstrip is located on Bremner Road, on the south-eastern edge of the town site. Co-ordinates are 32º 08' South, 116º 57' East and was constructed in 1943 which was built for use during World War II. Stones were used for drainage ditches, which came from the commonage stone walls which had been built by convicts.
Celebrating Over Five Decades of Airshows
The first Beverley Airshow took place in 1970 known as Aviat 70 to celebrate 50 years of progress of aviation in the state. Aviation enthusiasts are drawn to Beverley and there were to follow another two airshows in the eighties and again in 2000. This year marks another milestone in our journey as we celebrate the marvels of flight with thrilling aerobatic displays, vintage aircraft, and modern aviation technology as we revive the Beverley Air Show.
The Beverley Soaring Society
Founded in 1974 during a period of rapid expansion in the history of gliding in Western Australia, the Beverley Soaring Society stands as a testament to the passion and dedication of its founders, Dave Woodward and Duncan Black. Their enthusiasm for gliding has helped shape Beverley into a hub for soaring enthusiasts.
